My name is Morrison Salmon(She/Her) and I'm a 22-year-old from South Lake Tahoe, California.
Growing up in a family of artists, I have been immersed in the world of creativity and have always known I would one day participate in this beautiful industry. My family and my experiences of the world are the driving force behind my work, fueling my commitment to pushing the boundaries of storytelling.
Throughout my professional and academic career, I have become well-versed in industry-standard software and tools, including Maya, Unreal, Mixamo, Adobe Creative Suite, MotionBuilder, Procreate, and various traditional mediums. This skill set has allowed me to work on various 3D and 2D projects, enabling me to adapt to different styles and creative demands. Whether through short films or graphic arts, my work reflects a deep passion for storytelling and an exploration of complex themes, aiming to create immersive and thought-provoking experiences for the viewer.
Among the various forms of art I’ve grown to work with and appreciate, animation, in particular, has captured my heart. Animation has a unique presentation of endearing characters and visually stunning stories that go beyond the limitations of live-action filmmaking to connect with the hearts of all viewers, no matter their age. Despite its popularity, there are still levels of untapped potential that make it more than just a source of entertainment but instead a vessel of social justice themes. My collection of work highlights this realization and demonstrates animation’s ability to visualize essential issues, and the possible solutions to these issues, and explore psychological concepts.
